Playing is a good thing. When the newest colors of Ranger’s Distress Inks first came out my friend brought them to club and let us all play with them. I grabbed a piece of white paper and just started sponging the colors on in a rainbow pattern just to see all the different colors. I was so happy with the finished “background” That I started pulling out some of my stamps to “finish” the piece. What started out as just a color sample has become one of the favorite things on my studio wall. I call it “Raindance”.

It seems that a lot of my favorite works start like this. Just some random colors applied to paper with no plan for what will come next. It is like the color takes on a life of its own and just tells me what to do next. Color has its own language. I swear it speaks to me.

Yep, give Chia a piece of paper, some ink, and possibly a stamp or two and you’ll have the most wonderful and gorgeous creative art that you’ll treasure forever.

Chia, you’re right when you say color and the paper arts speak to you, as I have some of your great art that I’m so proud to own and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
