Does this look familiar?
This is a picture of a necklace my daughter bought at a craft fair last week in KY. She fell in love with it at first sight. Sadly, the first time she wore it the cord came loose and it slipped from her neck without notice. The next day she was able to find the cord but someone had picked up the pendant.
I’d like to make her a new necklace and I’m trying to find a picture just like this to make it with. If you have any ideas where I might be able to find one I’d really appreciate hearing from you.
UPDATE: YAY! Arsty Fran thought this looked like clipart from Alphonse Mucha. With her great tip and the wonders of Google I was able to find the image.

I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!

When you get this necklace project figured out, I hope you’ll share how you did it. I’ll bet yours will turn out nicer than the original.

These are pretty straight forward, Wendy. You sandwich the image between 2 microscope slides and then put solder around the edges. I haven’t done any jewlery soldering so I may have an experienced friend help me through it.. or I may just sit down and practice. I’m thinking it can’t take too long to get the hang of it and get a nice smooth finish.

Soldering is pretty easy.. even *I* can do it! Will you tint the slides? The original looks like it may be been tinted just a bit. Love to see the finished result.

I was just talking to my daughter on the phone trying to figure out if the original had a tinted image or tinted glass. She feels that it was the image that had been tinted. I’ll have to see what I can do with my graphics program. Maybe I’ll try making one both ways and see which we like better
