My monthly ATC group met today. Our theme was “I Am Thankful For…” and it produced a nice assortment of cards. Here is my ATC and the story behind it.

Last month I discovered that one of the gals I swap with is married to a man with relatives in Brodhead Wisconsin. This was very surprising because my husband has relatives in Brodhead. You may be tempted to say, “So what?”, but consider this… Brodhead is a small farm town with only about 3000 people in it AND this friend and I aren’t living anywhere near it.. we are in Arizona. Then to make it even more amazing we discovered that both of our husbands grew up in Beloit, a city near Brodhead. It was the kind of moment that makes you say, “It’s a small world!”

I love, love, love those “small world” moments. They make me stop and remember just how closely all of us are intertwined. We really are one big family and we need to be looking out for each other in our daily lives. It all plays into the old saying about “what goes around comes around”. Be nice to people. Maybe someone will be nice to you.

As always, I’ve scanned the cards and posted them on my website. Go to the gallery section and click on “Artist Trading Cards”. They will be the last collection listed.

From the it’s a small world files….how about this: My husband and his best friend grew up in northen Minn in a very small, rural town. After high school they completely lost touch. Fast forward 50 years. They rediscover each other living in a small town in north Texas, less than 2 miles apart. Each has been there for the last 5 years and never ran across the other until one day fate intervened. It’s a very small world.

Wow! That’s a great story. Were they able to pick up their friendship again?

Yes, just like time stood still! Oddly enough, the best friend’s wife is from the same general area where I grew up. How weird is that?
