Guess what is a big craft craze right now? Making bowls from old records! I think I was still in grade school when this made the rounds for the first time. Everyone thought it was so cool. We were easily amused back then… but now? Haven’t we grown beyond melted records? What’s next? Will they rediscover folding magazine pages back, then spray painting them and making “Christmas Trees”? I wonder if macrame will come back. I actually enjoyed that one. Remember when everybody had a macrame plant holder hanging from the ceiling? Oh, and do you remember making rings from telephone wire? How about making things from the ‘Leggs eggs? What old crafts do you remember?
God’s Eyes… sand candles… crochet granny squares… hats made from pop cans and crochet…

Great link, Trish! Don’t think I’ll be making any of those items in the near future! They rank right up there with vests made from the pull tabs on pop cans. I thought of another one that was really popular too.. Mrs. Butterworth syrup use to come in glass bottles people would cut the bottom off one bottle and glue it to the top of a complete bottle to make a lovely compote for their kitchen table. All it needed was some wonderful plastic grapes in it and you had a work of art! LOL
