My friend Arlynne made this a week or so ago. I really think it is beautiful so I took a picture of it. She was just playing around with a crackle stamp and some leaf stamps. I’m pretty sure she was just using dye inks.

I can’t put my finger on what I like so much about this piece. I think it has a lot to do with how the leaves on the bottom are black or blue and just seem to be part of the background, then the new fall leaves falling into view bring  a blast of autumn colors with them. The crackle design in the back makes me think about all those fall leaves crunching under foot as you walk on one of those crisp, late autumn days. The icy blue color of the card reminds you that winter’s frost is not far behind.

Maybe it is because we are still hovering around 110 degrees that I find this glimpse of cooler seasons so pleasing.
