Last week I was Stumbling around the Internet and I saw a photography page with numbers. At that moment it didn’t interest me much so I can’t tell you a lot about it or where it was. The only thing I remember is that a person or persons had gone out to take pictures of numbers.

I didn’t think about that page again until a few days later when I realized that I was paying a lot more attention to the numbers around me. Numbers on the traffic signs. Numbers on the store windows. Numbers on houses. Numbers are everywhere. What I was suddenly noticing was the wide variety of ways that we present our numbers. Colors, fonts, lighting and more contribute to the cause and the end result is art.

I usually have a camera with me so I’ve decided to start taking pictures of numbers just to see what I can find. Today I am looking for 1s, tomorrow I will look for 2s, the next day 3s, and so on. Who knows what will be my greater treasure… interesting photos of numbers or just the pleasure of slowing down and really looking at my surroundings.
