What Are Your Colors?

I spent most of yesterday working on a project and never really feeling satisfied with it. I was asked to do something that pretty much required me to work with the color pink. I now know for sure that I am not a pink kind of gal. It just wasn’t talking to me even though I had several shades of pink to work with and an almost unlimited assortment of colors to add to it. The pink just sucked the creative energy out of me.

I finally finished that project and moved on to something else. I started working with blues & greens and reds& yellows. Now I was in my element and having some fun. I wasn’t even worried about having a plan for my work because ideas just seemed to flow as I went along. I love color… just not pink.

So what colors do and don’t work for you?

I like blues and greens. I don’t like browns.

Boy, this is not an easy question to answer. I guss it really depends on what kind of mood I am in, what I am working on, and what season it is. I love warm colors, blue reds not yellow reds, browns, olive green. I also like any shades of blues and purples.
    What I don’t like are………….PASTELS……..
they are jsut not my cup of tea. That’s why I got such a chuckle out of Chia’s dismay having to use pink. I had the same project to do but got through it by using Ranger’s “Worn Lipstick.” It really is pink but I convinced myself it wasn’t because it didn’t say pink on the pad.

I’ve seen beautiful things done in pastels but they never work for me. I have trouble with the romantic vintage look too. All the soft, frilly stuff just doesn’t sit well on me.

My “life-sucking” color is orange. I see beautiful stuff done with it, but it’s just NOT me. I have been challenging myself to use it more frequently, though, and am getting a bit better :)
