Beads For Wendy

09210701.jpgThis is an Eyeglass Necklace that I made for my sister, Wendy. I think that Wendy could use some wild, carefree, funky fun in her life so I used lots of colors and shapes for her. She can close her eyes and pretend she is at a street fair every time she wears it.

Elise introduced me to this type of necklace recently when she wore one that she bought at Border’s bookstore. (Hi Elise!) I think she said that Border’s calls theirs “Look Thongs.”

The idea behind them is that when you aren’t wearing your glasses you can slip one of the ear pieces through the hoop and wear them as a pendant. OK, so glasses don’t make the most adorable pendant but this sure is a cool way to keep your glasses handy and prevent one of those dreaded where did I put my glasses? moments. Nina Designs has a nice example on their website. Dang, I wish I didn’t need to wear my glasses all the time!

BTW Wendy, I kinda, sorta used up your prize beads in this design. But it’s ok because I know sisters can get away with that kind of stuff, right?

How cool is that! Thank you. I can hardly wait… I have glasses everywhere cause I keep misplacing them. I love the bright colors.

Wow, Wendy’s lucky to have such a cool artistic sister like you Chia. The necklace is gorgeous, I love the beads and the colors. Wendy, wait until you hear all the oohs and aaaahs you’re going to get too, especially when you tell everyone that it’s not only a necklace, but it’s really for your eyeglasses. You’re not going to want to take it off. Beautiful work Chia. Oh, btw, I have a confession…I’m very lucky to have an artistically talented sister too ;-) - Adieu

    Elise
