Let me introduce you to the Pioneer Woman. Her name is Ree and I’ve been visiting her website every day since I discovered it earlier this year. She is a rancher’s wife, mom to four, home schooler, former city girl, photographer and a really great writer.

She writes mostly about their daily life on the ranch. All of her posts feature amazing photos that she has taken. There are lots of cows and trucks and even a few long legged, blue eyed cowboys. No matter if she is talking about working calves or doing mountains of laundry she has a way of making you wish you could live her life. Considering all the hard work and manure involved with ranching I’d say that is proof of her impressive writing skills!

Ree frequently hold contests to let you suggest witty names for her photos. The prizes are always wonderful but it you are a west coaster you may want to practice being an insomniac. This girl gets up early and the contests are announced in the morning. On the few occasions I’ve actually had a witty idea I’ve gotten there in time to see it has already been posted at least once (by the way, it never ended up being the winner so I’m starting to think it wasn’t so witty after all) and I’m left to post my second or third choices.
