After writing about Ellen and Xander recently I just couldn’t let this one slip by without comment.

An article on Fox New’s website  says that the Clinton family pet, Socks, is no longer a member of the family. That relationship lasted only as long as the family was in the White House. I’m sure this must have been reported on earlier but I was either snoozing or I’ve just forgotten. I read the article today and just felt so bad for Socks. Then again, if this family could part with him just because they were moving they might not have been a family that he really had a chance to bond with in the first place.

Here is a quote from the article that tugged at my heart strings, “Flanagan’s article, titled “No Girlfriend of Mine,” points out that Clinton wrote a crowd-pleasing book “Dear Socks, Dear Buddy: Kids’ Letters to the First Pets,” in which she claimed that only with the arrival of Socks and his “toy mouse” did the White House “become a home.”

Being Clinton, she also lectured readers that pets are an “adoption instead of an acquisition” and warned them to look out for their safety.”

The article is written as a Hillary bashing piece as if the decision to get a cat and dispose of a cat was her’s and her’s alone. I don’t know about that, the last time I looked there were three people in that family.  I’m not bringing this up to say “darn Hillary” but to say “poor Socks.”  Maybe it is because today is our first day without Xander and we kind of miss the little fellow.
