Here are some fun links I found to help you celebrate Halloween.
Star Wishing They have a nice collection of Victorian Halloween postcards.
I remember the Halloweens of my youth. There were a little more than 400 houses in our development and we went to nearly every one of them for Trick or Treating. I can remember stopping at home to empty our bags so we could go out and get more. Back then it was common to get little bags of homemade popcorn, popcorn balls and apples. Chocolate was a rare treat. I remember a lot of lolly pops, pixie sticks, Mary Janes, and Fireball jawbreakers.
I also remember having to bundle up against the cold. Connecticut isn’t exactly known for it’s balmy Octobers. Things are different here, the Halloween forecast calls for a high of 87 and a low 0f 62.
By the way, the images on this card are ones that I drew several year’s ago for my sister’s rubber stamp company. The little trolls represent my children in their pirate and ghost costumes. I made a lot of their costumes. It seems like there was one year that they wanted store bought ones but I can’t remember what they were.
I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!
