I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me. 
My father passed away last night. It was both expected and a big surprise. Dad had advanced emphysema. He was admitted to the hospital on the 20th for lung related issues but was expected to be sent home on the 24th a little stronger and ready to enjoy Christmas. He suddenly took a dramatic turn for the worse. My mother, sister and brother-in-law spent most of Christmas sitting with him at the hospital. Around 12:30 last night my sister called to tell me his time had come.
Dad was a good heart with simple dreams. Along life’s path he wished for riches and success like so many others but all he really ever wanted was the country, a front porch, a loyal dog and a good fishing hole. After a very long and bumpy road he found his true desires and was able to enjoy several years there, his loyal dog Jake always by his side.
Rest in peace Dad.

I am so sorry, Chia. It was not the Christmas you envisioned for sure…but pretty wonderful that you all got to spend that last precious day with him.

Thank you for your comments. It is the little things in life, like a kind word, that make the biggest differences.
I take comfort in knowing that death has put an end to a lot of suffering and unhappiness for Dad.
