The LuminArte booth was one of my favorites because not only did they have great products and displays but fantastic demo artists as well.

Bernie Berlin was there the first day. Bernie is an amazing mixed media artist and the author of Artist Trading Card Workshop. This is the book that I am currently working my way through. Remember the day I was looking for and outlining pictures in colored backgrounds? That was one of the techniques from Bernie’s book.

Bernie was busy making paints from pigment powders and creating awesome backgrounds when we found her. We stood there watching her work and chatting for quite a while. Bernie is such a sweetheart! We had the best time talking with her and learned many tips and techniques. If there weren’t so many other things to see at CHA I think we would have been happy to watch her the entire day.

The second day I walked by and discovered that Priscilla Hauser was doing a demo. I can’t say it any better than her website does… Priscilla is “America’s First and Finest Decorative Painter.” The lady oozes talent and Southern charm.

Priscilla was demonstrating some of the techniques from her new book, Brushless Painting. It was a treat to watch her work with the Twinkling H2O’s and Misters. Now I’m itching to dig mine out and play with them.
Have you used Twinkling H2O’s? What is your favorite thing to do with them? I bought mine after seeing them used at a local convention and I’ve never used them. I really need to change that.
I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!

I , of course, use mine to paint images. I also like to apply them directly to them stamp, mist and then stamp. Here’s a link w/instructions: http://www.luminarteinc.com/how-to-direct-to-rubber.html
I think they would make a lovely watercolor wash too, but haven’t tried that yet.

Looks like you saw some great stuff! I love playing with my Twinkling H2Os and have made my own version of glimmer mist and come up with some fun backgrounds. Here are a couple links:

Shannon, I think you are right. They really did seem to be happy. I know I gush too much about how nice these people are but that whole nice/happy vibe is what draws me to them.
Shelly and Trish, Thanks for all the links. I will check them out.
