Remember back in November when I showed you a picture of our Agave and told you that I thought it looked like a giant asparagus?

The darn thing just kept growing…

I think it got an attitude and just decided it was going to show all the other plants who was the boss by growing taller than all the rest.

It took all winter but it finally decided that it was tall enough to bloom. Every time I look at it I can’t help but think of Jack and the Beanstalk.
Speaking of Jack and the Beanstalk… I’ve had another childhood memory stuck in my head and I need your help with it. I can remember that one of my favorite cartoons was about a lion. He didn’t have a mane so he must have been a mountain lion. He walked upright and wore a white collar and tie. He would always end a scene by saying “Exit, stage right” or left, depending on where he was going. I can’t remember his name, can you?
I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!

Thank you Linda! When I get something silly like that stuck in my mind it just won’t go away until I have the answer.
On the topic of cartoons… I noticed recently that there aren’t a lot of cartoons showing on Saturday mornings anymore. When I was a kid the only thing on tv until noon was a cartoon and then the afternoon was filled with a wonderful assortment of “B” movies and sports. I guess with cartoon channels on cable all week long the magic of a Saturday morning cartoon fest has been lost.

The ocotillo in my yard is just now getting its leaves. I think it is one of the nicest desert plants — although you can’t touch it without getting stuck with thorns!
My kids used to watch Saturday a.m. cartoons. They loved them! Especially Winnie-the-Pooh. I suspect my oldest still watches it from time to time. Today you can find some good cartoons and TV shows but you have to have cable. Personally, I love Bob the Builder, Dora the Explorer and Winnie-the-Pooh, which is still on. I have grandkids! That’s how I know this!!
