I’m not making as much progress on my mermaids as I had hoped. I got as far as adding their tails when I hit a creative roadblock. Their tails look a bit drab and I am at odds with myself as to how I should jazz them up. I’m debating stamping them to add textures, adding beads or glitter, or… I just can’t quite decide.
While I ponder all my options I’m doing a bit of neglected housework and trying to think about what I’ll do with their backgrounds. You see, I think better about a problem when I’m not actually focusing on it. Oh, their tails are still bouncing around in the back of my mind and when the time is right they will claim my attention again.
I’m anxious to get moving on this again because I bought some adorable little metal crowns at Mystic Paper to use with them.
You might notice that I’ve added a new link to the list of sites I like to visit. It is to Jack & Cat Curio. I’ve been following the blog for a while but just realized that I hadn’t shared it with you yet. This blog is the home of Mike Putman, a very talented artist and all around good guy who teaches frequently at Mystic Paper.
I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!

Stickles would work great to glitz them up. They have some bright ones plus some transparent ones that would give your mermaids a translucent glitter look, like water.

So surprised to find Jack & Cat Curio on your list…well, maybe I shouldn’t be after all. I’ve been a blog fan for quite a while. I am very envious of all the cool classes you have access to, and cool people you meet through the store. I miss art just for art’s sake. Someday….

Judy, that’s a good idea. One of the things I was wanting to do is add the illusion of fins on the tails. I should be able to do that quite nicely with the Stickles. I’ll have to do some experimenting on the scrap paper.
BTW, the fin idea came to me while I was behind the washer scrubbing the floor…. oh the lengths I’ll go to to get a creative idea! LOL
