Not all birds are welcome visitors at the House of Stirfry. I’ve told you before about Recliner Man’s feelings for Pigeons. For any newcomers, let’s just say that he doesn’t like them much.
We’ve been feeling pretty good for a while now because we weren’t seeing more than one or two at a time, and never near our house. All that euphoria came to a screeching halt today when we looked out at the house across the street.
I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!

You need a neighborhood hawk! We used to have the same problem in our neighborhood. Until a hawk showed up and regularly cruises through the backyard sanctuary looking for a meal (and not necessarily pidgeons, but the other birds and bunnies that are back there). Pidgeons have moved to other homes in the area and we don’t have the problem. Wish I had an easier solution for you!

P.S. Pidgeons are flying rats!

I just recently learned that pigeon droppings and pigeon mites carry some serious dieseases. Pigeons will also get into your attic if possible. Yikes! I had thought they were just a messy nuisance for people. An exterminator can put prong tpye things on any ledges of your house so that the pigeons can’t perch there. I wish you the best with getting rid of them.

We put (plastic) spikes on all horizontal surfaces. These can be bought at Ace Hardware. Also had wires put on our roof.
