I was cruising around the internet today and I came across this image. It was a blast from the past for me. My younger sister had this set of plastic wigs. I think it was a Christmas gift that she received.

So that’s what happened to us! I bet those came from China and were full of lead. Luckily we couldn’t stand to wear them for long! Haha

Could you imagine the looks on the faces of today’s little girls? Plastic not real hair ewwww…can’t you just hear them now. Funny the things we played with that kids today would die about.

Suzanne, I said just about the same thing to Recliner Man. It’s funny isn’t it? We had no idea how tacky life was back then. LOL I think I remember that my sister really loved these wigs. Oh, and Recliner Man told me that his younger sister had them too.
I found a site online that has a lot of old Sears Wish Books posted. I’ll have to go through some of them and see how many of my old toys I can find.

I believe that your sister loved them. Her hairstyle when I was a kid and spending summers in L-land looked an awful lot like the blonde wig, minus the top UFO shaped bit.
And her current hair is quite similiar to the red wig, if you squint.

Now you’ve got me thinking about old toys. If I can find a picture of one of my favorite toys, I’ll do a post on it. It was a printing press, I think it was called “The Big Press” but I’m not having much luck on my photo hunt. We should all do a blog post on favorite toy memories.
Those wigs had their own funky smell and feel as I recall. They made your head sweat. Remember when she played beauty parlor and cut off the end of the cat’s tail?

The cat’s tail, her bangs.. LOL. I’m glad I wasn’t her mother!
