I’m sure she rushed to the computer on Saturday morning to see what embarrassing photo I posted in honor of her birthday.

It’s hard to know if she was glad or disappointed when she found not a single photo or mention of her big day.

I’m a crafty one, I chose to let the suspense build. I knew it would be far more dramatic to announce her birthday two days after the fact. In no way could this mean that I forgot to put her birthday post up in time. I’m almost, sorta, kinda sure I wouldn’t have done that!

Happy belated Birthday to my wonderfully talented and favorite daughter! I love you Honey.
I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!

Some observations:
Nathan says, “Whoa! What’s up with your cheeks?!” Indeed, what’s going on with my baby face?
Also, why don’t I have thumbs as a baby?
And finally, whoa. We had the tackiest kitchen EVER. I totally forgot about that, and never saw it through adult eyes before now.
Thanks for the supposedly purposefully late birthday wishes. ;P

Shannon,
The funky cheeks and fish lips are because you were sucking on a pacifier and the photographer yanked it out of your mouth and snapped the picture in one quick move. It was the free picture the hospital gave us.
We were too poor to buy you thumbs until your first birthday.
Yep, a very ugly kitchen. It came that way when we bought the house. You probably just remember what it looked like after Dad and I remodeled it. Do you remember the furry (use to be white) carpet and flocked red wallpaper in the living room? That was our first remodel project. They were really tacky people.

Wow.
I’m pretty sure I had that same wonder woman outfit, but my mother didn’t have the presence of mind to photograph me in it. Thank God.
Happy Late Bday, Shannon, and Happy Bday to you too, Chia!
