Altered Tin

This is an altered tinĀ  from Bernie Berlin’s book, Artist Trading Card Workshop. I had to show you what her tin looks like because mine ended up so very different. By now you know that I have a habit of veering off the path on these projects. Well, this one was no different.

I started out the same. I sanded my box and brushed on sections of Gesso. I even stuck with the plan and used alcohol inks to color it. And then the muse took over.

I put a few drops of blender on the tin and then a few drops of ink. I used the heat tool to help move the color around but I wasn’t completely happy with the splotchy feel of the colors. I softened this a bit by using a felt square to dab on the yellow ink and pull it all together. When I was done with the color I just wasn’t getting into the idea of stamping over it so I broke out the rhinestones and glitzed it up a bit.
