Remember the plan to open gifts on Sunday? Well, let me tell you what happened. Last night we each opened our one gift for the night. The Boy got a tea kettle. He was pretty excited about this because he really wanted one and he didn’t expect to be getting one. The excitement was just bubbling up in him. Suddenly he was anxious to open another gift.

“Not so fast”, we said. “Didn’t you say we needed morning sun to make opening gifts worth while?” He told us he was now open to renegotiation. This made Recliner Man happy as pie. He was having a really hard time with the idea of waiting. He had done a great job of selecting gifts for me and he just couldn’t wait for me to see them. I think he was also a little anxious to see his own gifts. Just a little.

One of my gifts was a new phone. My old one was, well, old. It also had always been a huge power consumer. One long conversation and the battery would be dead. I even bought an extended life battery, making my once slim phone bulky and heavy. It didn’t help much and I was always needing to plug in and recharge. The new phone is suppose to be much more battery friendly and it has bells and whistles! I never had bells and whistles on a phone before. This is cool!

This is the best Christmas gift for a kitty! It is the packing paper that Amazon.com puts into their shipping boxes.  She has been diving and burrowing in it for weeks and shows no sign of loosing interest. My family room will never look orderly again.

I made sure to share the love. While we were at my daughter’s house an Amazon box arrived. I opened it, pulled out the five miles of crinkly brown paper, and sweetly called out, “Here Kitty, Kitty.” Her living room will never look orderly again.
