I was reading my sister’s blog post about the new cat toy that is taking up space in her living room. It made me smile. Not the smug smile of seeing someone tossing money away and thinking myself more responsible. Oh no! This was the kind of smile that said, “I’ve been there, I’ll be there again.”
My sister likes to say that she shares her life with cats. I’m a lot more up front about it, I am owned by a cat. For the privilege of sharing space with said cat I am expected to make offerenings to her on a regular basis. There was once a day when an ear rub would suffice but not any more. She has learned the “Is that all there is?” look and I melt under its gaze.
Here, in a moment of full disclosure, and for my sister’s amusement, is the view of what was once my family room. Now it is Abbey’s room. Every room in the house is Abbey’s room. I am owned.

Those leopard print cubes are held together with Velcro and can be rearranged to keep her majesty amused. We tried putting them away once and the very next day she found them and let us know, loudly, about it. And this mess isn’t all…

she has her own toy cabinet. It is like having toddlers all over again.
I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!
