The other day there were three different Hummingbirds at the feeder. That little dark guy on the right thinks he owns this feeder so the other two had to be really sneaky to get to it without a fight.
This is the same dark fellow on a different day. He was sitting on his favorite branch guarding the feeder. Every time another Hummingbird would approach the feeder he would chase after them before returning to this same little branch.
As he turned his head the sunlight caught his feathers and they began to change colors.
A little more turning and a little more color.
A lot more turning and a lot more color… and a lot more blurry. Hmmmm…

Very pretty color. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a hummingbird at rest.

Suzanne, The bees taught me something about photo ops. As many times as I’ve been by that covered pipe with the faded blue paint, I never noticed it as a photo op. It took the bees to grab my attention and see what a great picture the old paint would make. I think we have photo ops all around us but we just haven’t learned to slow down and notice them. Even these birds can go unnoticed unless I decide to sit down and really look at the trees for them.

I haven’t had any hummingbirds yet this year. Hmmmm, maybe they just all hang out at your house. Not looking forward to disco night tonight. How about you?

Kim, Disco Night is going to be very interesting. I think it is going to be make or break for Lil. I can think of a couple songs she could really slam her power vocals on but I can also see her picking something too bland and falling flat. Adam will be in high gear and giving quite a performance. I’m just glad Scott isn’t around for this week’s selection.

These pictures are amazing! Good job! Love the colors and how amazing that three different hummers were at the feeder at the same time. WoW!
