I’m really good at telling people what to do. Ask any of my friends and they will tell you that I just can’t keep my ideas to myself. Some people might think that makes me a pushy busy body but I prefer to see myself as a big idea person. The world needs big idea people. We serve a valuable service. We make sure the great workers of the world have plenty of things to keep themselves busy between their own great ideas. It works out fantastic, like in the case of this super ranch home that Billie built. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Billie, Chris, and I were sitting around making little houses the other day and Billie decided to build a ranch house. She came up with the idea for the front porch but then my keen eye noticed that she was drifting into the dreaded “between their own great ideas” zone. (Either that or she was just pausing to take a breath, does it really matter?)Being a dear and helpful friend I started firing off commands suggestions.

“You should have John Wayne on the porch!”

“You should get tiny rocks from your back yard and build a real chimney on the end of the house!”
Billie being the brilliant woman that she is, saw the brilliance in my ideas and agreed to work with them. Smart girl, that Billie.
The really wonderful thing about Billie is that she can take some of these wild ideas of mine and actually figure out how to make them work. She not only makes them work, she makes them ROCK! OK, maybe the pun was intended, just a little, BUT IT’S TRUE! That girl has some serious creativity in her soul. Look how realistic that chimney looks. She is so good at the detail work.

I seem to have done my job of keeping her busy between ideas because no sooner did she finish the chimney and she was ready to move on to the windows. It is kind of hard to see in these photos but she has tiny people printed on vellum that make it look like they are actually living in the house. A battery tea light brings the whole scene to life.

The entire house is just too cute for words. I took these photos with my cell phone because I couldn’t wait to share this with you. Next time I go to Billie’s house I’ll bring my good camera and get some better images.
I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!
