Yesterday was the day for the Big Reveal of our finished dolls. As you remember, last week Billie, Chis, and I started making dolls. We were mostly done with them but needed to add some finishing touches. I’ve been pretty excited about today and sharing my finished doll. Of course, I had no way of knowing how stiff the competition was going to be.That’s why I am showing my doll first, so you can look at it and think “how nice” for just a moment before you move on to the next photos and get a thrill ride.
Abbey was pretty excited about the day’s event also:

Billie brought a box to carry her doll and as soon as it was empty, Abbey moved in. (If my chair consultants care to look closely, you can see the fabric sitting on a chair in the background and see how well the green will work with the living room chair here in the foreground.)
I decided that Shannon was right and this doll’s face was just a little to young and sweet for a “Mother Nature” doll. No problem, I just took out her marble boobs and renamed her “Nature Girl”. Hey, whatever works. Remember to stop and think “how nice” because things are about to heat up in here.
Remember Billie’s doll with a face only a mother could love?

Well, just look at her now!

Is that nose ring too much? I love it! May have to go out and get myself one… yeah, right
I haven’t even been wild enough to seriously think about multiple piercings in my ears. The nose ring ain’t never gonna happen! LOL But I do love it on this little sweetie.

Now how about this for a wild warrior woman? Can’t you just feel how much fun Billie was having with this project?
Chris didn’t bring her doll because she hasn’t had time to finish it yet. No need to worry about this show ending too early though, because Billie made up the slack by making a second doll! This girl was having a ton of fun and just couldn’t stop. Now check out this face:

This looks like Billie has been watching a bit of Sci-Fi.

This doll makes me think of Edward Scissorhand and Dune. She is just such a cute Sci-Fi Princess. Now do you see why I wanted you to linger over my doll first? Billie was just amazing with her dolls and I am blown away. I love, love, love both of them.

I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!

WOW – girl way to make me feel good about my dolls! I did have a great time making them and have ideas for more – so we must continue the FUN. I think you are selling yourself short though as love your doll too – and like you said a little traditional but now that your juices are flowing we’ll see what you come up with next. Like some steam-punk to go with your WONDERFUL bull and pig!!!

I still think you should have done something to your doll’s face.
Billie’s dolls are very cool. I especially like the sci fi doll with her Borg-esque F9 eye.
I also think you could totally sell dolls like these on Etsy.
