The Boy and I have been busy this getting ready for his new home. We’ve been to all the do it yourself stores collecting tons of paint chips and making design decisions. We also decided it was time to get down to business with some of our craft projects.

Remember these? They were my old lamps from the early 80s. I was only able to pass them off to The Boy after I promised we could do a cool make over on them. They aren’t quite finished yet but I’ve decided to give you a peek at how far they have come.

We took them apart and cleaned up all the metal parts, giving them a fresh coat of paint.

Then we spent hours applying tape.

Adding color.

And removing color. The next step is to put a protective coat over them and then reassemble them with new hardware. We still need to figure out what to do about lampshades so for the time being they will have to make do with my old shades.
I’ve also been painting. The Boy saw a painting that he loved and wanted for his living room. It was out of the budget so I told him I’d paint something similar… even though it isn’t exactly what I would pick to hang in a living room. I’ll give you a quick look and the first bit of work on it.

OK, how many of you are either scratching or shaking your heads? LOL I’m not going to show any more pictures of this one till it is done and hanging in his room. It should be interesting…
I'm Chia Wald and this is my blog. Here is where I share my thoughts and my art. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn't. That's life... and that's me.
Stumble it!

The lamp make-over looks fantastic! They need black shades.

Wendy, we were thinking of a gray or grayish green. When I looked at the store it was only your choice that sat on the shelf waiting for me though
