Judy, We have been here 12 years and by far, this has been the worst year for scorpions. Not only have I seen more of them, but they have been HUGE! I'm starting to understand the old joke about an "Arizona Fly Swatter" (Baseball Bat). The horn worm may be the same as the tomato worms you and Jolene are remembering. If not the same, then a close relative. They make a large moth. Some of them make a hummingbird sized moth! And yes.. I'd much rather see the hornworm than the scorpions!

I thought that work looked exactly like the tomato worms I saw on my plants in Virginia! Big, ugly, things!! If you stepped on them, you had a big mess! If you didn't, they ate your tomato plant to the stem!

This summer I have battled scorpions! First time in 8 years that I have ever even seen one here!!! Talk about paranoid!! I am! Think I could take one of these green things over a scorpion!!!

Clementines and a huge humming bird too! The ones here are tiny... birds that is. Tell us more about the critter when you find out more. What did you do with it? When you were a kid, you'd put it in a jar, with holes in the lid....
It reminds me of the big horned like tomatoe worms we use to have in Nebr... I killed them, before i realized they were likely some exotic butterfly.....
