Alexis Nova – Aug 2, 2012

I’ve been a little busy lately. My precious granddaughter, Alexis, decided to make her appearance at 1:15 am on August 2nd. By 1:16am she had captured the hearts of Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma.

Like her mommy, Alexis seems to be a night owl. There signs have been there for months. Prior to birth her mommy rarely felt kick during the morning and afternoon. Alexis preferred to do her dancing in the evenings. Now that she is here, she likes to sleep peacefully all day and keep her parents up at night with frequent feedings and fussing.

I need to look at a calendar soon and pick a day to start my travels homeward. As much as I need and want to get home, the thought of leaving my grand-baby  and daughter behind is  difficult one.

It is going to be very hard to put this little one down and say good bye.

Oh how sweet. Chia, stay as long as you possibly can. Make sure you go back and visit often once you leave. I still have the coveralls I was made to wear in the delivery room. Chandler is now 14 years old and in high school. It will go by fast! Take it all in!

Hi Suzanne and CeCe. Thanks for your comments. I know I might be biased, but I really do think she is totally sweet.

I’ll be leaving here next Thursday. It will be hard but I know that I will be back with Grandpa at the end of September.

I know the feeling of having to leave. I spend the month of February 2012 waiting for our granddaughter to arrive, she waited until the last minute. I only had 1 week with her before I had to leave for home. I was lucky that she and my daughter came and spent a month with us this summer. They are gone again and I miss them terribly.

Hello Rebecca, living far from our loved ones isn’t much fun, is it? My daughter is being really good about sending me photos and updates, and we already have another visit planned for October. I really need to buy a winning lottery ticket so that I can move them closer to me! LOL

Stumbled upon your site the other day and I’ve been wondering what happened. This blog ended a year ago, have you started a new blog site?

    Hi Liz,
No, I didn’t start another site. I just ran out of steam. I keep thinking about coming back here and sharing something that’s why I haven’t taken it down. I never thought I’d take so long to figure out the next post. Good grief, my grandbaby is walking and talking already!

Just stumbled on your site by way of “dog under my desk” harness post you made. Got looking at your Halloween book. That gave me ideas for teaching my grandsons about plants! I have to work on that! Hope you start back up soon!
